Ever wondered how the thirst quenching drinking coconuts of Thailand are processed? I visited a coconut supplier in Chiang Rai to see how its done and was very impressed with the knife skills of the workers. Here the young drinking coconuts are delivered by truck from the south as its a little cold to grow vast amounts of coconuts in Chiang Rai.

They are hand processed in 2 ways, first is cut and shaped so they sit flat and easy to open with a machete. Second is all the husk removed to present the coconut itself. If you have drinking coconuts in Chiang Rai, this is where they come from.
